✅ What Happens After You Approve Your Fence Estimate
Thank you for choosing Apex Fence! We're excited about bringing your project to life. Below is a step-by-step guide to what happens next so you know exactly what to expect.
1. Signed Proposal
Once you've approved and signed your estimate, this confirms the scope of work and gives us the green light to move forward.
2. Down Payment Invoice (60%)
After the signed proposal is returned, you'll receive an invoice for a 60% down payment.
This payment is required before your project can be scheduled.
Payment Options:
Check or Cash
Credit/Debit Card
3. Scheduling

As soon as we receive your down payment, your project is officially added to our schedule.
📞 Please call us approximately 2 weeks after making your down payment for an estimated installation date.
⛅️ Because we install fences outdoors, schedules may shift due to weather; dates are approximate and not guaranteed.
✅ Unfortunately, we do not call with installation dates, so please remember to reach out.
4. Fence Permits
If your city or municipality requires a fence permit, it is the homeowner's responsibility to apply for and obtain it before installation begins.
Below, we have listed some of the local areas with links to their regulations and applications.
If you live in Rochester, Minnesota, you do NOT need a permit for a fence that is 6 feet or less. You can read more information on Rochester's fence regulations here.

Stewartville, Minnesota, residents must obtain a fence permit; you can find the necessary information here. The permit application costs $20.
If you live in Byron, Minnesota, you do not need a fence permit unless you require a fence over 7 feet.
Kasson, Minnesota, requires a permit, and you must also consult with your neighbors.
Chatfield, Minnesota, requires a "fence certificate" for all fence installation. You can download the application here.
If you live in Mankato, Minnesota, you must apply for a fence permit. Additionally, you need to submit a site Plan. You can go ahead and print the application here.
*This information may change at any time. We encourage all homeowners to conduct their own research regarding fence permits.
Now is also a good time to inform your neighbors about the upcoming project.
5. Fence Layout & Utilities, Week Before Installation

The week before your scheduled installation (usually Thursdays), we'll be on-site to:
Paint the fence layout on the ground.
Call to have underground utilities located and marked.
👀 Please check the painted layout. If it doesn't look correct or you'd like changes made, contact us:
Tiffany: 📞 507-993-2744 (opt 2) | 📧 tiffanyL@apexfence.us
Kevin: 📞 507-718-0632 call or text
If you're not available to meet us on-site, you're still responsible for reviewing the painted layout and contacting us with any concerns before installation begins.

Homeowners are responsible for locating any private utilities and sprinkler lines.
6. Fence Installation Preference: Please let Us Know
Would you like your fence to be installed?
Flow with the ground, also called nice flow (resulting in smaller gaps at the bottom, but a less uniform top line)
Straight top line (which may result in larger gaps at the bottom, depending on your yard)
Tight to ground (depending on the grade, may result in a very uneven top, but will eliminate small gaps at the bottom)
Please inform your sales representative of your preference!
7. Installation Process

Chain Link Fences
Day 1: All Posts will be installed. End and gate posts are set in concrete.
Day 2: 7 days later, we return to install the wire and gates.
This allows the concrete to be cured correctly.
All gate posts and end posts are concreted for durability.
Gates are custom-built to fit the exact openings and slope.
Gate measurements are done on day one
Gates are built over the following week and installed on day 2
Schedule Example:
If we set posts on Monday, we return the following Monday.
If we set posts on Thursday, we return the following Thursday.
If you have a large chain link job, your installation may extend over more than two days. However, the majority of our chain link jobs are completed within two days.
Wood, Vinyl, or Aluminum Fences
Installed over consecutive days.
The total time on-site varies by project size.
Repairs:
